"Woodside Ferry Terminal is built in a pretty area with perhaps one of the finest examples of a "Regency Period Square and the Birkenhead Town Hall only 5 minutes walk away. It is also less than 10 minutes walk to the very much overlooked Birkenhead Priory with unrivalled views from St Mary's Church Tower in to the historic Cammell Laird Shipyard with many famous ships being launched including the CSS Alabama, Ark Royal. This whole area is worthy of being a tourist attraction in its own right, St Mary's Church being earmarked for demolition for construction of a new dry dock so enjoy it while its still there. There is also a brilliant heritage tramway which after a very short ride for around £3.00 per person takes you to their transport museum which is truly a hidden gem"

Boasting an unrivalled collection of stage outfits, objects and instruments (including Noel Gallagher’s Union Jack Guitar), the BME charts the beginnings, rise and influence of British pop from 1945 through the rise of Skiffle Music, the influence of Buddy Holly and of course the Beatles to the present day. In addition to an incredible collection of artefacts and memorabilia ¬– which includes some of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust costumes and the original handwritten lyrics to ‘Blue Monday’ – the BME also covers the impact that British music had on the culture, fashion (the unbelievably tiny dresses worn by the Spice Girls!), art and politics of the time. There are many displays which become even more real when you see lots of the music statues and venues in the city itself there’s a tremendous display of outfits worn by Queen and your guide will explain how and why Freddie Mercury stayed in the Liverpool during the 60’s.

The BME includes galleries, learning zones, audio visual experiences including an awesome full size Hologram of Boy George on stage, you can play Gibson and other guitars and record music in an interactive instrument studio. There is also a dance area and a live music venue.

Why visit Liverpool?

Liverpool is a fascinating city, with lots to see and do. It is ideally located geographically to stay in a Liverpool City Centre Hotel and then enjoy your private guided tour of Liverpool and then explore North West England & North Wales which is only 90-minutes away.

During your private tour, you can explore the city region together in accordance with your requirements and itinerary. Your tour is flexible, and your itinerary can be amended on the day as necessary in case of something unmissable happening, or other unforeseen circumstances, or if the group is running late. Any changes will be discussed, and we'll work together to ensure you have your ideal day in the city.

Why visit Manchester?

Manchester is an important industrial city steeped in heritage with success processing and manufacturing cotton during the 18th and 19th century. It is mostly Victorian with a fabulous Town Hall designed by Alfred Waterhouse. Your local tour guide will show you the football stadiums of Manchester City and Manchester United and there are lots of other superb attractions and visits for example the John Rylands Library. the former Exchange building, the Football Museum, there are many cultural quarters including the gay quarter in Canal Street and Spinningfields is clearly awash with wealth in the heart of the business and city with so many new high rise and quality office buildings it will make your eyes water.. Manchester is served by an International Airport with routes to and from all over the world.

Manchester Airport is only 45 minutes transfer to Liverpool which many consider to be a more friendly and better tourist location from which to enjoy Beatles tours and excursions further afield.

However, a guide of Manchester is essential either as you arrive or before you leave the whole of the North of England and North Wales create a superb 7 to 10 day itinerary and Manchester with its airport is a great place to start and finish.

Why visit North Wales?

Liverpool is considered the gateway to North Wales with its stunning scenery, dramatic mountain passes, Edwardian Castles, heritage Steam railways & beautiful beaches. All this is around a 90 minute journey from Liverpool & one our most popular excursions includes the fabulous “Thomas Telford” “River in the Sky”

All our tour guides know North Wales extremely well & we also arrange Shore excursions from Liverpool & Holyhead Cruise Terminal

Why visit Chester?

Chester is around 45 minutes travel time from Liverpool it is the UK’s most compete walled City alongside the River Dee with a historic cathedral & distinctive & unique two tier rows of black & white timber shops.

We often combine Liverpool, Chester & the pretty village of Port Sunlight built around 1900 for the Sunlight Soap workers with a short River Cruise with breathtaking views of Liverpool waterfront.

Why visit York?

York is a fabulous city around 2-hours journey from Liverpool in the county of Yorkshire. Medieval York is another walled city with a fabulous cathedral called York Minster. York lies on the River Ouse where there are fabulous daily river cruises. The National Railway Museum is unmissable and free of charge and there are many other paid attractions for example Yorvik viking museum. York is a lively market town with unique rows of wooden shops and a popular street called the Shambles. You will love York and a local tour guide will bring the place to life.

York can easily be added on to a day out to Whitby a pretty fishing village the home of Dracula and there are lots of other heritage railways including those used in Harry Potter in the region and stately homes to enjoy with your local tour guide.

Why visit Cumbria and the Lake District?

The Lake District sits in the North of England close to the Scottish Border with dramatic mountains and deep lakes. Windermere is the largest lake on which you can take a lake cruise to Lakeside and then take the Lakeside and Haaverthwaite steam railway. Grasmere is a popular town with its homemade Gingerbread and the Wordsworth Museum at Dove Cottage. Much of the region was saved by the legacy left by Beatrix Potter a children's author with books about Peter Rabbit. There is so much to do in the Lake District and a local tour guide and a tailor made itinerary is essential for you to get the best of your day.

You’ve booked your guide so now what else can we see or do?

The tour combines an easy city centre walk with a Motor Coach tour to visit the suburbs including the areas the Beatles were brought up & their schools & colleges.

Meeting Point at the Cruise Terminal!

This 6-hour tour starts & finishes at the Cruise Terminal where you will meet your fun local Tour Guide.

The tour showcases the city centre in the footsteps of the Fab4. It starts on Canada Boulevard with its Canadian Maple trees as you leave the Cruise Terminal. You are immediately greeted by the iconic Liver Birds the height of a double decker bus towering above the Liver Buildings. Your guide will explain the day and tell the history of the waterfront buildings which include the Italianate Cunard Buildings which together we all the "Three Graces" & on week days you will see inside the Port of Liverpool Buildings with its sumptuous marble interior exuding wealth and representing Liverpool perfectly as it once stood at the helm of the British Empire.

This tour has something for everyone and is great fun & you will then have time to take fun "Selfies" at the new larger than life Beatles statues unveiled in 2016 & generously paid for by the Cavern Club.

Maritime History

With such an important maritime history it is hard to find anywhere else in the world where you can take such photos in front of the Cunard and Port of Liverpool Buildings and learn how they have recently been used for Hollywood films including Fantastic Beasts, Florence Foster Jenkins and your guide will explain the future development plans for Liverpool Waterfront in order to retain our World Heritage Site status.

Next its a short walk to the Museum of Liverpool which is the UK's newest National Museum where you will enjoy  a panoramic Beatles film with archive footage.

The tour continues in the Albert Dock, passing the Billy Fury Statue & Maritime Museum through the World Heritage Site passing the Town Hall Balcony where the Beatles made their appearance on their return to Liverpool after the Edd Sullivan show and with the emergence of Beatlemania.

Liverpool after European Capital of Culture 2008!

You’ll see the new £1billiion leisure and shopping area "Liverpool One" which was rebuilt on the devastated bombed out area of the city from the Blitz in the 1940's and this was only possible as Liverpool won the bid to host the European Capital of Culture year in 2008 which kickstarted the regeneration and resulted in such a vibrant city.

No tour would be complete without the Beatles !

Next its a mini magical mystery walk along Mathew Street and subject to availability before 12 noon we visit the Cavern Club itself where the Beatles played 292 times between 1961 & 1963.

We leave the Cavern & its wall of fame with an incredible array of bricks representing each and every group who have appeared at the Cavern since its opening in 1957, we pass the statues of Cilla Black and Eleanor Rigby & make our way to William Brown Street.

World Heritage Site

William Brown Street is an integral part of the World Heritage Site rich in American connections and dates back to the very earliest times in the Borough of Liverpool 800 years ago in 1207 at which time all that would have existed was a small fishing creek.

Nowadays it is home to St Georges Hall, the World Museum, the Walker Art Gallery (which houses paintings of Henry VIII & Elizabeth 1) & you will visit the stunning Victorian Round Reading Rooms where there are also rest rooms.

After a break to buy refreshments you willl board your air conditioned executive Motor Coach or luxury MPV for a panoramic City tour of Liverpool City Centre including the Georgian Quarter and Chinatown where you will find the largest Chinese Arch outside of mainland China.

"If you want a Cathedral we've got one to spare!"

As we take a short walk along Hope Street you guide will point out typical Georgian features on the houses and you'll take a selfie at the birthplace of John Lennon.  You'll see both of our cathedrals and see inside the Anglican Cathedral which is awesome and is in fact the World's fifth largest cathedral & there will also be a short stop and chance to buy a "half" in perhaps Liverpool's most ornate pub called the "Phil" which was John Lennon's local.

Leafy suburbs & parks

Next we travel through the second largest park in Europe to Penny Lane & John's first house until he was 5 years old, 9 Newcastle Road all with "Blue Suburban Skies!".  and then we continue to see Strawberry Field Gates and see outside John Lennon's second home called Mendips where he lived with his Aunt Mimi for 18 years until 1963.

Its a short drive then to Paul McCartney's childhood home and we stop for a few minutes to take photos before returning to Liverpool via "Ringoland" the area where Ringo was brought up close to the City Centre.

Willkommen in Nordengland & Nordwales

Warum man Liverpool unbedingt besichtigen sollte

·                  Albert Hafenanlage,  Liverpool Museum, Seefahrts- & Internationales Sklavereimuseum & Tate Galerie

·      Beatles Story (Aufpreis am Tag)

·      Weltkulturerbestätten; Liver, Cunard & Liverpool Hafengebäude, Rathaus.

·      Mathewstrasse, Cavern Club (die Beatles sind hier 292 Mal aufgetreten), Eleanor Rigby & Cilla Black Statuen.

·      Radio City Turm (kleiner Aufpreis am Tag)

·      William Brown-Strasse, Weltmuseum, Walker Kunstgalerie & St.Georges Saal.

·      Neue Zentralbibliothek & atemberaubender, viktorianischer, runder Lesesaal

·      Bootsfahrt auf der Mersey Fähre (Aufpreis)

·      Einkaufs-und Freizeitgebiet namens Liverpool One, dessen Bau £1 Milliarde kostete

2. Zu Fuß; - (ein eher mäßig schwieriger Spaziergang)

·      Alle obigen wie auch

·      Liverpool Kathedralen

·      Chinesisches Viertel.

·      Georgianisches Viertel

·      Harry Potter & Sherlock Holmes Drehorte.

·      Schulen und Hochschulen der Beatles,

„Labskaus“ auftischen.

Was inbegriffen ist

The Magical Beatles Museum on Mathew Street is the world’s most authentic Beatles museum, a superb attraction. Your expert local guide will then take you on a 90-minute walk to visit "Double Fantasy" John & Yoko exhibition on the waterfront

Description and why you should book!

This connoisseur tour for Beatles lovers and visitors to Liverpool is a leisurely afternoon experience with a local tour guide and Beatles expert and this unique and unmissable museum visit and guided walk will enable you to see all the locations that it is not possible to see from a coach tour.

As the tour starts on Mathew Street every day at 12:00 we also suggest that during the morning before your tour with us that you perhaps might like to visit the Cavern Club, or one of the many bars or restraints and souvenirs shops in the Cavern Quarter which is an absolute must visit for Beatles fans and first time visitors to Liverpool.

Its also a great idea for something do do in the afternoon during your Cruise Shore Excursion as the finishing point is less than 5 minutes walk back to Liverpool Cruise Terminal.

Why should I visit the Magical Beatles Museum?

The Magical Beatles Museum curated by The Beatles original drummer's half brother; Roag Best is on Mathew Street in the heart of Liverpool & is the world’s most authentic Beatles museum. There are countless previously unseen exhibits which take you on an incredible journey through the Beatles early days in Liverpool and Hamburg. their rise to worldwide fame and their innovative studio years. 300 original items of memorabilia on display from letters to posters, film footage and props, instruments and clothes, furniture and jewellery and so much more. The Magical Beatles Museum offers a unique perspective on the greatest rock and roll band of all time. A must for any Beatles fan or music lover.

The story of The Beatles rise to fame would not have happened without a series of coincidences and of course a bit of luck, we all know the part Brian Epstein played, but its their time in Hamburg which was critical and after John Lennon's mother Julia was killed, John and Paul stopped playing while George Harrison continued with another band. This led to another quirk of fate! with John & Paul being introduced to Pete Best's mother Mona who was opening a Coffee Club in the cellar of her large home and the Beatles (or the Quarrymen as they were then reforming) to play in her "Casbah" club.

You can visit the Museum at any time during the morning with your combo ticket and we suggest that most people like between 1-hour to 90-minutes to properly look at all three floors. So we suggest that you start your museum visit no later than 12:00 and then meet the local tour guide at the entrance at 13:00 for the guided tour which will bring the whole story together. We also suggest that you make a quick visit to the cavern Club during the morning before you start your guided walk.

Your local tour guide & Beatles expert will show you how & why this vibrant city has changed as you walk between several pubs related to the Fab Four. This tour is a great opportunity to learn more about The Beatles and their meteoric rise to fame and why it might have happened. Depending on the time and day of the week there may be a nominal charge to enter the Cavern Club,

Our tours are meant to be enjoyed, lively and fun and its extremely rare when one silly person spoils things for everyone and as a company we always put our guide first on these pub themed tours.
