Manchester is an important industrial city steeped in heritage with success processing and manufacturing cotton during the 18th and 19th century. It is mostly Victorian with a fabulous Town Hall designed by Alfred Waterhouse. Your local tour guide will show you the football stadiums of Manchester City and Manchester United and there are lots of other superb attractions and visits for example the John Rylands Library. the former Exchange building, the Football Museum, there are many cultural quarters including the gay quarter in Canal Street and Spinningfields is clearly awash with wealth in the heart of the business and city with so many new high rise and quality office buildings it will make your eyes water.. Manchester is served by an International Airport with routes to and from all over the world.
Manchester Airport is only 45 minutes transfer to Liverpool which many consider to be a more friendly and better tourist location from which to enjoy Beatles tours and excursions further afield.
